SPRINGFIELD -- U.S. Congressman Aaron Schock (R-IL) is under investigation. An ethics committee is looking into whether he broke the rules during last year's primary.

They're checking his campaign finances. Investigators are questioning if Schock moved $25,000 in donations around behind-the-scenes to help get another congressman, Adam Kinzinger, elected.

Some say he asked for thousands of dollars from donors to fund a super-PAC backing Kinzinger. But, there are $5,000 limits on those contributions. It helps cut down on corruption.

After a first look into the campaign money, an ethics committee says it needs to do a full investigation. One reason is witnesses like Representative Rodney Davis, of Taylorville, aren't cooperating with the committee. It's something experts say raises a red flag.

A group of congressmen will investigate to see if Schock or anyone else is taking part in wrong-doing. Something like this doesn't carry jail time. Schock's team says they're not worried and fully expect the whole thing to be dismissed.
