CHAMPAIGN -- More resources at the police department are being devoted to the public complaint process. It's just one change officers are working on.

The department will give the city council an overview of its policing strategies at Tuesday night's meeting. Council members will be able to make comments and question the department.

Its complaint review process came into question in a 2011 incident in which an officer pepper-sprayed a man he stopped for jaywalking. An investigation found the follow-up to the complaint violated department policy.
