Spring training is underway for the big leagues... And nows your time to sign up your little leaguer. Dana Mancuso with the Urbana Park District is here for Todays News In-depth. Pony and Colt Baseball Program.... Pony - ages 13-14 Colt - ages 15-16 Practice begins the week of April 9 for Pony and the week of May 28 for Colt. Registration deadline is March 30. You must bring in a copy of childs birth certificate when registering at the Phillips Recreation Center. Questions about the schedule or eligibility, call 344-9583. Corec Spring Outdoor Soccer March 12/13-May 5; $21 resident/$33 nonresident; Grades 1-8 367-1544. Soap Science Program March 31 1-2:30 p.m. Anita Purves Nature Center $6 resident $12 nonresident Join us for some good clean fun. Experiment with soap bubbles, make a soap bubble print to take home and discover how bubbles are used in nature to protect a particular insect. Register by March 28. C-U Around Town Friday, March 9, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Phillips Recreation Center, 505 W. Stoughton, Urbana $25/resident (per day) Ages 5-11 C-U Around Town meets when school does not. It is a great way for kids to have fun on their institute days. Activities include group games, crafts and often a trip to a fun location in town. March 8 includes a tea ceremony at Japan House and March 9 includes a trip to the Spurlock Museum.
