SPRINGFIELD -- During the last two fiscal years, state agencies and departments spent more than $6 million on new office furniture and equipment.

A WCIA-3 News investigation focused specifically on office furniture. It found three departments among the biggest spenders: the comptroller, secretary of state and IDOT.

I believe that each department will spend ALL that is alloted to them so they will not be given a smaller amount next year in their budget. agencies that receive grants do the same thing, spend every dime.

Hey Channel 3 - how much did your chairs cost. Take a count and report to us just how much furniture in the studio costs for just a few of your butts.

Ask any standard employee at SOS and they will tell you they've never seen anything new in office equipment unless they bought it themselves. Ask the non-union management where they got theirs.
