Rose proposes changes to MAP Grants
Updated: February 12, 2013
The first bill prevents students at for-profit schools from applying. The senator says more than $20-million went to those schools last year and isn't fair to public schools which haven't been paid yet.
The second bill looks to cut down on students who don't make the grade. New rules would require students to keep up their grades to continue qualifying for the grant. If they don't they'd have to wait a year to apply again.
