No weapon involved in high alert situation on ISU campus

NORMAL -- Officials say there was no weapon involved in the emergency situation at Illinois State University Tuesday. ISU says Nathan Thomas was arrested around 4 pm Tuesday.
They say it started when Thomas allegedly threatened to shoot a student. That student then assumed Thomas had a gun, and reacted.
The University sent out an alert that afternoon warning people to stay inside and avoid the area. Thomas is being charged with disorderly contact.

NORMAL -- Illinois State University Police have a suspect in custody. The emergency situation has ended. Residence hall and dining center restrictions have been lifted. All campus operations will continue as scheduled.

NORMAL -- Illinois State University is on alert. A person with a weapon was last seen near Watterson Towers on campus.
Illinois State University's website sent out an emergency alert around 3:30 pm Tuesday. University leaders warned everyone to be alert, not to approach the suspect and seek shelter.
The suspect, Nathan Thomas, is described as a black man, about 6'1", with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a white hat, a black coat with red and black stripes on the waist and wrists and baggy pants. All residence halls and campus dining facilities are currently restricted to residents.
