Email phishing scam targets UI addresses

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- More than 1,000 people have been affected by an email phishing scam. It targeted people with UI email addresses.

It asked for user names and passwords, then forwarded that information to sites in Russian and the U.K. Leaders say it's a good time to remind everyone to be suspicious when emails ask for personal information, even if it looks like a legitimate message.
