URBANA -- A man who bonded out of jail found himself back in custody a few hours later. 29-year old Joseph Cannon was arrested Sunday for aggravated assault charges.

Police say he got in a fight with his girlfriend in the 700-block of East University. Police say the victim went outside and Cannon threw a knife at her from a window.

Cannon was taken to jail and posted bail. He was ordered not to contact his girlfriend or go back to the house.

But, police say he returned and forced his way inside about four hours later. His girlfriend called police who arrested Cannon again for violating his bond.
