CHAMPAIGN -- Women and girls got a little fancy to support cancer awareness. The Mad Hatter Tea Party was at The Big Grove Tavern.

Party-goers tried out tea, coffee and dessert at two sessions Sunday afternoon. They wore special hats and spent time with friends and family members. This was the first time organizers put together an event like this.

They raised more than $2,000 for the American Cancer Society. They hope to do it again. Organizers said it was nice to spend the day indoors since it was so rainy outside.
