Child approached by woman in car

CHAMPAIGN -- Sheriff's officials report an unknown woman in a black car offered an 11-year old boy a ride. It happened Wednesday morning, just after 7:00 am in the area of Carlisle and Harrington.

The child refused the offer and the woman left the area. The child did not know the woman. Her race is not known.

I drove by a little girl just a couple of weeks ago on her way home from school, It was about 5 degrees outside and windy she was wearing a thin coat, and not hat scarf or gloves and her coat was not zipped. I would of loved to give her a ride HOME. Its sad we live in a world where we cannot do this anymore.
