Pair of purse snatchers sought

SPRINGFIELD -- Police are investigating a robbery and aggravated battery. It happened January 25, at Wal-Mart on Freedom Drive about 7 pm.

The victim was approached by a suspect while she was putting groceries in the trunk of her car. The suspect grabbed the victim's tan purse from the cart and jumped into a getaway car.

The suspect is described as a white woman, about 5'6" and heavyset. The vehicle was a dark, 4-door sedan driven by a white man.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
