U of I recognized for volunteers

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- The UI is being recognized for its service to the Peace Corps. It was ranked first in the state for the most recruits.

Fifty-four alumni are currently serving. Nearly 2,000 have taken part since 1961.

Recruiters said students in the colleges of Business, Agriculture and Education show the most interest. Overall the university is ranked 23rd in the country when it comes to volunteering for the organization.
