Website to help Springfield Police return stolen items

Updated: February 6, 2013
Springfield police have a new way to help you protect your valuables.
They're using the Report It system.
It's a website that lets people store serial numbers and upload photos of things like jewelry or electronics.
Officers say that information helps them track down stolen items and get them back to the rightful owners. Nobody can see your information until something happens and then you can allow police to see it, after you give permission.
