URBANA -- The victim of a fatal shooting was a witness in an ongoing trial. It happened in an apartment complex on Colorado Avenue.

Police say a man shot 29-year old Curtis Mosley who was supposed to testify in court this morning. He was a witness to and victim of a shooting last summer.

But, Monday night, police say a man pushed his way inside and shot Mosley several times. He was taken to the hospital, but later died.

The trial is for 23-year old Artis Fenn, who is accused of shooting Mosley in the leg in June. It happened outside the detailing place where Mosley worked.

Fenn, failed to appear in court this morning, leading authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest. A hearing will take place Wednesday for the State's Attorney's Office to see if it can use statements from Mosley in place of his testimony. Fenn's trial for the June shooting will continue Thursday, whether he appears in court or not.

Police say they're investigating Mosley's death. The shooter is described as a black man, wearing a tan Carhart jacket with the lower-half of his face covered.

Another man was also arrested for June's shooting. 19-year old Gabe Chaney was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. He's in jail and is due in court next week.
