Groce frustrated at llini fall to Badgers 74-68

Updated: February 3, 2013
CHAMPAIGN - John Groce is trying everything to get his team back on track. Today he held Brandon Paul out of the starting lineup, in favor of Joseph Bertrand.  It didn't work.

Illinois lost to Wisconsin 74-68 Sunday afternoon at Assembly Hall.  It was Illinois' 6th loss in the last 7 games, and it dropped the Illini to 15-7 overall (2-7) in the Big Ten.

The Illini put five players in double figures with Bertrand (17 points) leading the way.  Nnanna Egwu added 14, and Paul chipped in 13 off the bench.  The cold shooting continued for Illinois, who was 2-13 from 3-PT range, including 1-9 in the second half.

Illinois is off until Thursday night when they host Indiana, who will likely be the nation's No. 1 team.
