DECATUR -- A convicted felon faces multiple charges including injury to an officer after a K9 was struck by a car during a foot chase. 20-year old Arcarius Anderson was seen in the 1500-block of North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive when he fled from approaching officers.

Anderson was on parole for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Authorities say they recovered a loaded, semi-automatic handgun from Anderson when he was taken into custody in the 500-block of East Stuart.

The K9 officer lost a tooth and sustained damage to another tooth in the accident and was treated by a veterinarian.
