MONTICELLO -- Washington Grade School and High School students were evacuated after a fire was set at the school. The buildings are connected by the cafeteria, which is why all students were evacuated.

Officials say a plastic toilet paper holder was lit on fire in the boy's bathroom. It filled with smoke and soot. Students were sent to the gym to finish their classes.

The superintendent sent an automated call to all parents and says the school will be open Friday. Although fourth- and fifth- graders will be in their normal rooms, high school students will have to find out where classes will be held in the morning.

Authorities are investigating who started the fire.
