CHARLESTON -- Eastern Illinois University students are taking a stand against discrimination. Wednesday, members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and the EIU chapter of the NAACP hosted a town hall meeting to discuss racial issues. It's in light of a weekend incident.

A shooting at the Penalty Box Restaurant and Bar led to the arrest of an African-American man. The incident caused some people on campus to make discriminatory comments about him. Students say it can't happen again and the talk helped.

The meeting featured a panel including EIU President Bill Perry, Charleston Mayor John Inyart, representatives from local law enforcement agencies, as well as students and other faculty.
