PEORIA -- One company nearly lured out of Illinois by states with higher tax benefits continues to grow here. Caterpillar posted record sales in 2012 and revenues of more than $65 billion.

That's an increase of 10% from 2011. Profit per share was also an all-time record at $8.48. Cat's 2013 outlook is cautious. Company leaders believe economic growth will be weak.
