Deer season numbers

ILLINOIS -- Hunters had a successful deer hunting season. They managed to harvest more than 180,000 deer among all the hunting seasons combined.

While hunters did well they still didn't beat record harvest of 200,000 during the 2005 - 2006 season. IDNR says deer hunting helps control the population and stop the spread of Chronic Waster Disease.
