CHAMPAIGN -- Coaches and fans around the county have a different dress code Sunday. It's for the annual Suits and Sneakers Weekend.

The University of Illinois basketball team partners with the American Cancer Society for the event. Coach Groce is wearing tennis shoes with his suit to raise cancer awareness and many more are doing the same thing.

They also sold T-shirts with ties on them to fans for $14 each. A portion of the proceeds go to the cause.

"Over half of all cancers can be prevented through healthy eating and physical exercise, so hopefully with this, it'll raise some awareness," said Amanda German of the American Cancer Society.

The University of Illinois raised about $5,000 last year. The American Cancer Society recently reached its $1 million mark with its Coaches vs. Cancer Campaign.
