CHAMPAIGN -- A familiar face in food stopped at a Mexican restaurant Friday. Guy Fieri from Food Network's "Diners, Drive-in's and Dives" visited El Maize.

It's a restaurant on Green and First streets. Owner, Armondo Sandoval, said it was a complete surprise to see such a well-known food personality in his restaurant.

"He loved the food," said Sandoval. "He was very intrigued by the corn mushroom that we have. He had never tried it before and he loved it. It's kind of cool giving a chef something that he has never tried before."

Fieri came in with Jimmy John, who Sandoval said is a regular there. They just opened a little more than a year ago. No word yet about if Fieri will come back to shoot an episode of DDD there.
