CHAMPAIGN -- A new hotel is starting to take shape. Concrete is being poured for the Hyatt Place on the corner of Neil and Church streets. The owner says the basement and elevator shafts are the current focus. They hope to move onto the first floor in about a month.

A completion date has yet to be set, but the owner hopes it's within a year. The final result will be a nine story, 145 room hotel.
