Pedestrian hit, killed by train

SANGAMON COUNTY-- A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a train.

Darrell Jones, 57, of New Berlin was walking near Curran Road and Old Route 54 around 9:10 this morning. That's when he was hit.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today.

The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office and the Norfolk Southern Police Department along with the Coroner's office are investigating the incident.
