Radio station celebrates milestone

CHAMPAIGN -- The city's first radio station is celebrating a milestone. Thursday was the 76th anniversary of WDWS. The station started broadcasting in 1937.

It provides the area with news, weather and sports. General Manager Mike Haile says one of his greatest memories was the station's coverage of 9/11. They had non-stop coverage for 24-hours.
