RANTOUL -- Rantoul Township High School is turning to the internet to keep the school safe. School resource officer Kurtis Buckley helped launch a new tip website this week where messages can be sent anonymously.

"This was created for any student, parent, community member that wants to share threat of violence or safety concerns," said Buckley.

He's hoping it'll help open the lines of communication. The notes go from the site to Buckley's email. From there, they go straight to his phone. Senders can also choose to include their information if they like.

Todd Wilson is principal at RTHS. He says the site allows the school to be proactive about any issues that may come up.

"From bullying to the threat of a weapon," said Wilson, "those are all things we definitely don't want to see happen at school."

And for Buckley, it's a way to work with students and keep RTHS free of violence. For more information, click here.
