SPRINGFIELD -- Six cars in two days, police need help finding the person breaking in. It happened just last week.

Investigators say they have little to go on in this string of break-ins. But they hope someone saw something that might help. So far, they have no suspect description.

The cars were hit between January 15-17 in the overnight hours. Three cars were at Chatham Hills Apartment complex on Candlelight Drive, two were on Saratoga Drive and the other was in the 1500-block of Seven Pines.

Matt Goulet with the Springfield Police Department said, "Windows were broken out to gain access to the cars." He added several things were stolen including an iPad, HP laptop, Garmin GPS, a Dewalt drill and a car stereo. Goulet says the broken windows could lead to criminal damage charges plus burglary.

If you know anything about this case, call Sangamon Menard County Crime Stoppers at 788-8427. Or text: Tip672 plus your information and send it to CRIMES. Or log on.  You could get a cash reward if your tip leads to an arrest in this case.
