SPRINGFIELD -- A statewide program to dispose of unused prescription drugs is getting a slower start than some had hoped. The program is supposed to give grants to law enforcement to collect old pills. But, so far, no one's been paid.

The fund currently only has a fourth of what it needs to start. The money comes from fines for convicted drug abusers. Program advocates say the sooner all counties participate, the better.

It's to help stop prescription pills, like antibiotics, from getting into drinking water. It was started by students at Pontiac High School.
