DEWITT CO. -- We're learning more tonight about a crash that killed a pedestrian in DeWitt County.

Police say 72-year-old Duane Boyer was behind the wheel Saturday night. He was arrested for aggravated DUI. The sheriff says Boyer ran over 38-year-old Catherine Kohl of Bloomington.

He says the two had just left a tavern at the same time near Bloomington and Franklin Street in the village of DeWitt. Boyer got in his car while Kohl started walking along the road to a friend's house. The sheriff says Boyer should've been able to swerve to miss her had he not been drinking.
