Piece of Outer Space Crashes into Central Illinois

Updated: March 5, 2007

A piece of outer space came crashing down into central Illinois Monday morning. A chunk of metal and rock crashed through a Bloomington woman's bedroom window. She was home at the time and said it sounded like her bathroom mirror fell. It left a hole in her window, blinds and desk. She runs daycare in the home, and she says she's lucky it crashed where it did. Scientists are pretty sure it's a space rock. They say it could be the first meteor to hit Bloomington-Normal since the 1930's.
