CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Thursday was the first day to vote absentee for the February primaries. Booths and tabulators are already set up at the Champaign County clerk's office.

Next month's election is one of two in the state this year. The two things on the ballot for Champaign County are Urbana mayor and city clerk.

"We have two outstanding citizens who have already come to vote," said Champaign County Clerk Gordy Hulten. "They've done a great job. It allows us in a lower-turnout election like this to make sure all of our procedures and systems are running the way that they should."

You can look at the sample ballot or find your polling place by clicking on this link.

Even if you don't live in Urbana, Hulten said it's a good reminder to register to vote. The general election will be on April 9.
