Free pill program

Updated: January 15, 2013
SPRINGFIELD -- People living near operating nuclear power plants can now get free pills.

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency sent vouchers to people living within a 10-mile radius of each plant. That includes the Clinton Power Station.

The vouchers are good for a two-day supply of potassium iodide. The drug can help protect you from radiation posioning if there was an accident.
