Danville looks to upgrade bus depot
Updated: January 10, 2013
DANVILLE -- Danville Mass Transit is working towards an upgrade.
It wants to build a bigger and better bus depot downtown. The new depot would be at the corner of North and Hazel Street. Final plans for the project include a indoor waiting area and restrooms. Right now, the center is set up outdoors - the layout doesn't work well for people in wheelchairs.
"It's really important to our riders," said John Metzinger with DMT. "Of course, it'll improve operations so it means a lot to our town and our riders."
The project will cost almost $3 million. DMT is hoping a grant will help pay for it.
