Driver injured in I-74 accident

CHAMPAIGN-- An accident on I-74 W caused hours of delays for drivers. It happened just before 4:30 P.M. at the I-57 interchange.

Lindsey James, 21, of Chillicothe was headed West on I-74 when she lost control of her pick up truck and spun across traffic. She was hit by a semi truck driven by Allen Herman, 50, of Columbus, Ohio.

James was extricated from her vehicle. She was taken to Carle Hospital to be treated for her injuries. I-74 W was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. James was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
