Skate park closer to being built

Updated: January 8, 2013

LOVINGTON -- A skate park to remember four young lives lost is one step closer to becoming a reality.

Almost two years ago, 27-year-old Michael Martin died in a car crash in Lovington. His two son's Braxton and Bryson, and their friend Dakota were in the car as well. All three died. To honor them, the community raised almost $50,000 through donations and grants to build a skate park. It was one of the boys' favorite hobbies. The Lovington village board will vote to approve building the park at next month's meeting
