CHAMPAIGN -- Families in Champaign work up to broken windows and gunfire.

There have been four different shootings Sunday. Champaign Police say all four happened within hours of each other:

  • The first report was at four o'clock Sunday morning. A resident in the 1400 block of Holly Hill drive said several rounds were fired through the wall of a child's room.
  • The second shooting was reported shortly after two that afternoon. Officers were called out to the 200 block of Bellefontaine. 72-year-old woman called saying several shots were fired into her home.
  • Hours later, shortly before eight in the evening, police were sent to the 1500 block of Holly Hill Drive. Police say around twelve shots were at the home. Several teens were inside at the time, and a 23-year-old man was injuried. Police say the bullet grazed him and he is doing fine.
  • The last shooting happened a few houses from the third on the 1500 block of Holly Hill Drive. Residents reported gunshots, and several neighbors found rounds had entered their homes.

No other injuries were reported. Police don't have a suspect. They say it's too early in the investigation to determine if any of the shootings were related. They're asking anyone with any information to please call Crime Stoppers or the Champaign Police Department.
