Hometown Hero: Military service while making history

Its an invention that's changed the way we see our world and it was created in part by a veteran who lives right here in Central Illinois..
WCIA-3's Amanda Porterfield has tonight's Hometown Hero.
They are lights make the holiday season a little brighter.
The man who invented them is Dr. Nick Holonyak Jr an inventor turned veteran now hero.
