CHAMPAIGN -- Christmas might be over, but for millions holiday shopping continues.

We've all gotten that sweater from grandma or the socks we know we'll never wear.

But people are turning their exchanges into a bonus shopping day.

There was a steady line at customer service today at Meijer in Champaign. Customers say lines have been moving quick, and everything's been smooth.

Holiday sales were up 4% from last year. retailers all over the country are expecting today to perk up holiday sales.

"We actually come out every year to do more shopping the day after Christmas to get wrapping paper and stuff for the following year. We usually are pretty lucky we don't have many returns," shopper Amanda Potter said.

The shopping days after Christmas count for more than 15% of holiday sales.

it's even giving black Friday a run for it's money. Experts predict shoppers will spend more than $7,000,000 today.
