Barely anyone worried about Mayan apocalypse

Updated: December 21, 2012

CHAMPAIGN -- There's less than two hours left in our day And as you can tell, the world hasn't ended.

And it appears most people weren't worried about it.

At Do It Best Hardware store in Champaign, it was just a normal work week.

Nobody came rushing in to buy generators or supplies.

The owner says the Y2K scare 12 years ago did bring in extra business. But the end of the Mayan calendar did not.

"We really saw no change in the normal movement through here. Nothing, absolutely nothing. In fact, nobody ever really brought it up," said owner George Edwards.

Edwards says there was a long line of customers outside his store this morning. But it was only to buy salt after last night's blizzard.
