Gas prices drop in time for Christmas

Updated: December 18, 2012
DANVILLE-- Christmas has come early for drivers. Prices at the pump are the lowest they've been all year.

The national average is $3.24 per gallon. That's down 17 cents from a month ago.

Analysts say it's because of high unemployment and increased supply. That means people are using less gas.

Prices are expected to continue to slide for the rest of the holiday season.
