Grandson fundraising for scammed family

Updated: December 13, 2012
RANTOUL-- A month after an elderly couple was scammed out of their life savings, their grandson is stepping in to help.

Last month we introduced you to Chuck and Nancy Padilla. A scammer, pretending to be their grandson Brian who lives in Paris, called and said he needed help. Over the course of several weeks, the Padilla's gave him $100,000... money they haven't seen since.

Now their real grandson has set up an online fundraiser to help them get some of that money back. The goal is to raise $10,000. Brian says any little bit helps.

If you'd like to donate, visit the campaign website. They'll be collecting donations until the end of January.
