MONTICELLO -- A Montessori school will have to give up more of its curriculum.  The city council voted unanimously to expand its animal ordinance.

Most animals, including livestock and horses, will not be allowed within city limits.  Only six chickens with 150 feet between a neighboring property will be allowed.  That means Metamorphosis Montessori School will have to get rid of their miniature horse and half of their chickens.  The use the animals to teach students how to be caring and responsible adults.  We reached out to the owner of the school but she didn't return our calls.

The law goes into effect January 1st.
