Thousands of kids to get toys

CHAMPAIGN -- Thousands of children will have gifts under the tree this holiday.

It's all thanks to the Salvation Army toy drive. It's a Carle Hospital community service project.

People have been dropping off toys since November. At locations all over Central Illinois.

Now 3,000 kids will have an unforgettable Christmas.

"Just warm and fuzzy. The children will have something to open up on Christmas morning," Marsh Eckstein said.

"I just feel like this is my way of paying back to the community for being so good to me," Volunteer Sally Stewart said.

Last year the drive collected 2500 toys helping 13 hundred families.

You can donate until Wednesday at the following locations:

Toys will be collected from November 15 - December 13. The public is asked to drop off new, unwrapped toys or gift cards for infants, children and teens at several locations throughout Champaign County. These locations include:
