$1.5M grant for University of Illinois research

URBANA -- University of Illinois researchers got a big boost from the American Heart Association. It gave the university more than $1.5 million to help with cardiovascular research.

The money will be divided among departments. That includes chemists, bio-medical scientists and engineers. University of Illinois engineers research MRI technologies, cell systems and the chemistry behind anti-obesity treatments. They said contributions like this one are critical to advancing their work. The money will help fund 13 different heart-related research projects on campus.
