Police investigate attempted child abduction

CHARLESTON -- Police are investigating an attempted child abduction. It happened about 3:30 pm Thursday in the 1000-block of Jefferson Avenue. It's one block east of Jefferson School.

Police say they were told two people in a small, blue car, possibly with a dent in the side of the door, tried to get a 10-year old girl into their vehicle.

The driver is described as an upper-middle-age white man, wearing a black shirt and blue shorts. The passenger was an upper-middle-age white woman wearing an orange, long-sleeved t-shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
