Our drought didn't improve any in the last week, but things are much better than they were this summer.  Just a small part of central Illinois is considered to be "abnormally dry," which is the lowest drought category.  You can get more on the drought categories in our Weather 101 Section.  

Looking ahead, the 8 to 14 day forecast is looking to bring us above normal rainfall, which is needed after a below normal November.
