MADISONVILLE, KY -- A couple of criminals are in jail just one day after fleeing the state. John and Janet Cunningham were arrested in Kentucky Wednesday. Police say they shot someone, stole a truck and fled.

These two are already convicted felons and now they have a whole list of charges added. Car jacking and aggravated battery are two. Police say more could be on the way.

Kentucky State Police arrested the couple in Madisonville, but the search went through three states.

It started Monday night after a man was shot in Johnson County. Officers say that night the pair stole a pickup truck in Coles County and left.

Wednesday, police found them sleeping in the bed of that truck at a Pilot Truck Stop with the shotgun they allegedly used to steal it.
