Lawmakers let prison decision lapse

SPRINGFIELD -- State facilities on Governor Quinn's chopping block are one step closer to shutting their doors. Lawmakers did not override Quinn's veto to close two state prisons and two adult transition centers. He wanted them closed to save money.

Now, a pending lawsuit is the only thing keeping the facilities running. If the judge gives the "go ahead" the facilities will close.
