CHAMPAIGN - The Illinois basketball team survived a game they very well could have lost last night against Western Carolina, but somehow John Groce's team continues to find ways to win even when they don't play well.

Illinois shot just 40% from the field, even worse than that (29%) from 3-point range.  They were also outrebounded by a much smaller Western Carolina team.
