Lawmakers shoot down proposed ban

SPRINGFIELD -- It looks like Governor Quinn won't get his way when it comes to banning assault weapons and ammunition. Both the house and senate voted to override his amendatory veto.

That means the ban he originally proposed can't become law. Critics say it would've put too many restrictions on gun owners.
